Ice skating on a beautiful outdoor rink is a must every winter season so you’ll want to start making plans to visit one soon. Nevada is home to a handful of great outdoor ice skating rinks, but the one featured here has become especially popular among families for a few great reasons. Its location in the middle of a festive downtown Summerlin makes skating on this rink an extra enchanting experience, so be sure to stop by and experience its holiday splendor soon!
During the holiday season, Downtown Summerlin turns into a festive wonderland of seasonal activities and attractions. It doesn't matter that this is the middle of the desert. This town goes all out when it comes to winter fun!
This includes the opening of Downtown Summerlin's Rock Rink—an outdoor ice skating rink that offers endless entertainment during the wintertime. The rink is currently up and running for the season and will stay open through January 20, 2020.
Located near the Pavilion at The Lawn, the Rock Rink is comprised of 60-feet by 120-feet of REAL ice that's kept cold using a special chilling machine. It's truly like a little bit of "traditional" winter right here in Southern Nevada.
At the Rock Rink, guests can skate underneath the beautiful night sky while surrounded by dazzling Christmas displays, including a massive 40-foot-tall holiday tree that overlooks the rink. It's a magical wintertime experience that's bound to turn into a repeat tradition for you and your family.
Even in the desert, those winter nights can get cold. Keep warm with a coffee, tea, or hot cocoa from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's mobile truck located on site.
Skate rentals at the Rock Rink starts at $15 for a single admission and $25 for two. Tickets are sold for specific dates and can be purchased online ahead of time
Downtown Summerlin's signature ice skating rink is a must-visit this winter season. No matter your age or skill level, there's something about skating around a holiday ice rink that never fails to fuel us with joy!
