Shhhh. Don't be fooled by Shim's Surplus Supplies unassuming exterior. It may look like a typical army surplus store on the outside, but there's a hidden speakeasy within these walls that's well worth checking out.
If you'd like to enter this modern speakeasy, don't go to the front door. The actual entrance can be found in the alleyway out back, at the door that reads "Shim's Deliveries Only." If the green light above the door is illuminated, then that means the speakeasy is open and ready for visitors.
Once you've officially found the hidden bar, you'll instantly be taken back in time to a bygone era. The speakeasy boasts a quaint old-timey atmosphere, complete with a bartender in a 1920s-era outfit and vintage decor everywhere you look.
The ambiance is definitely unique, and it's fitting for a building with so much history. In fact, the building that Shim's occupies is nearly a century old. It's housed a variety of businesses during its lifetime ranging from shops to bars. However, this is the building's first speakeasy...or is it?
At Shim's, you can enjoy a delicious craft cocktail prepared expertly in front of your eyes. Alternatively, you can choose from their wide selection of draft and canned beer. They don't serve food, so be sure to eat something beforehand.
