The state of Nevada has more natural hot springs than any other state, thus providing a challenge in selecting where to visit first. With the plethora of natural springs from which to choose, many recommend visiting Arizona Hot Spring first. This three-tiered natural spring is in close proximity to Las Vegas and Hoover Dam and is truly stunning.
Visitors can reach the springs by following US Hwy 93 East approximately 8.4 miles past the Lake Mead Visitor Center (4.2 miles past Hoover Dam). The trail to the hot springs is closed during the summer due to extreme temperatures in the canyon.
Arizona Hot Spring is located in a slot canyon near the Colorado River's Ringbolt Rapids. The springs are comprised of several pools within the canyon where walls are almost vertical and around six to nine feet apart. The spring puts out highly mineralized water at about 30 gallons per minute, with temperatures around 111 degrees Fahrenheit.
Visitors reach the springs by hiking down a gorgeous volcanic canyon to the Colorado River below Hoover Dam to a side canyon where the hot springs are.
