These 7 Incredible Farmers Markets In Nevada Are A Must Visit
Now that we’re getting close to warmer weather, it’s time to start planning your first visit this year to your nearest farmers’ market! It’s always a pleasure to support local growers and businesses while getting fresh, healthy ingredients to play with. Here are 7 examples of awesome Nevada farmers markets.
1. 3rd & Curry Street Market (Carson City)
This farmers market runs in one location in May on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm at the corner of Nevada and Musser Streets, and then from June through September on Saturdays, at the corner of 3rd and Curry with hours 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. The 3rd & Curry Street Market was voted the #1 farmers market in the state for three years in a row and vendors cover everything from fresh fruits and vegetables, locally-produced honey and lavender products, meat and fish and flowers.
2. Summit Mall Farmers Market (Reno)
Located at 13925 South Virginia Street, the market hours are Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm from June through September. Goods on sale include fruits and vegetables, baked goods, honey, jewelry, seafood and more.
3. Village Center Farmers Market (Reno)
This farmers market is one of the oldest. It's located at 1119 California Avenue and takes place Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm, June through September. This market is run by Shirley's Farmers Market so you'll see many of the same vendors as at the Summit Mall Farmers Market which they also run.
4. On the Ranch Farmers and Artisan Market (North Las Vegas)
This market is held on Sundays at Craig Ranch Regional Park at 628 West Craig Road. The market includes the usual food and art vendors, as well as live music, kid's crafts and face painting and more. The market runs from June through September from 8 am to 1 pm and from October through May from 9 am to 2 pm.
5. Las Vegas Farmers Market (Las Vegas)
The Las Vegas Farmers Market has three locations and vendors provide fruits and vegetables, hand crafted goods, fresh baked items and more. On Wednesdays, the market is at the Bruce Trent Park at 1600 North Rampart Boulevard from 200 to 6:00 pm. On Thursdays, the market is at Gardens Park at 10401 Gardens Park Drive from 2 to 6 pm. And on the first and third Saturday of every month, the market is at the beautiful Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9100 Tule Spring Road, from 10 am to 2 pm.
6. Sands Farmers Market (Reno)
This is another market run by Shirley's Farmers Markets in Sparks. The Sands market is at 345 North Arlington Avenue in Reno on Thursdays from 4 pm to 9 pm, June through August.
7. Fresh 52 Farmers and Artisan Market (Henderson/Las Vegas)
Fresh 52 has two locations. Saturdays it's at Tivoli Village (Summerlin) at 1890 VIa Firenze from 9 am to 2 pm. Sundays it's at the Henderson location at Sansone Place, 9480 South Eastern Ave, from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Vendor wares include local farm produce, honey and herbs, aromatherapy, jewelry, gourmet food items, dog biscuits, coffee, baked goods and more.
