This One Destination Has The Absolute Bluest Water In Nebraska

Although we have miles and miles of rivers and hundreds – maybe thousands if you count all of those little ones in the Sandhills – of lakes, Nebraska isn’t exactly known for having rich blue water. It’s not that our water isn’t clean and beautiful, but in general you can expect it to have a slight brown coloration. All except for a few places…and this one is king.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

Lake Mac might be the most popular, but we know there are other bodies of water out there with beautiful blue water. What’s your favorite? Tell us about it in the comments! Meanwhile, here are some of the best places to swim in Nebraska with clear, clean water – just be sure to get out there before summer slips away.
