In every state, there are some things you just won’t catch the residents doing. Here in Nebraska, we’re no exception – there are some traditions we won’t break and some unspoken rules we all follow. These are 10 things you’ll never catch a Nebraskan doing.

1. Disrespecting farmers and ranchers.

We know these hard-working people are the backbone of the country, and we respect all of the labor they put into feeding the nation.
2. ...Or our elders.

Our parents raised us right! We know to be caring and polite to older people because they've earned our respect, and we wouldn't think of mouthing off - no matter how old we are.
3. Eating a steak from any other state.

4. Hiring movers for an in-town move.

You know enough people with muscles and pickups - just promise them beer and pizza and they'll be there. Just like you'll be there for them the next time they move.
5. Putting on the coat and other winter gear before it's entirely necessary.

We'll resist this as long as possible, even if it means shivering in a windbreaker in December. And you can bet we'll break out the tee shirts on the very first spring day that tops 50 degrees.

9. Cheering against the Huskers.

Even non-football fans usually just keep quiet rather than face the wrath of the rest of the state that would follow any remarks disparaging the Huskers.
10. Buying zucchinis, cucumbers, tomatoes, or peppers in the summer.

If you don't have your own garden, you have at least 10 neighbors and family members who do - and they're all overloaded with massive amounts of these summer treats.
