These 9 Scenic Overlooks In Nebraska Will Leave You Breathless
Beautifully scenic places abound in Nebraska, and what better way to see them than from above? These scenic overlooks give you a bird’s-eye view of some of the prettiest places in the Cornhusker State – how many have you had the pleasure of experiencing?
1. Indian Cave State Park, near Shubert
After you're done looking at the historic cave in this park, head to this overlook which provides a spectacular view of the wooded park and the Missouri River. If you can time your visit for sunset, you'll be richly rewarded with an almost magical golden glow.

2. Cowboy Trail Bridge, near Valentine
Standing on the former railroad bridge that crosses the Niobrara, you can see the historic Bryan Bridge and a rather spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. The river and the cliffs on either side are some of the most beautiful sights in the state.

3. Observation Tower at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, near Ashland
If you can brave the climb up this 70-foot observation tower, you'll be pleased to find a sweeping view of the Platte River and the park grounds. This is one impressive view that is absolutely worth the effort.

The Little Grand Canyon overlook isn't as elevated as the others on this list, but it sure does give the other views a run for their money. This little-known spot is so lovely that it's worth a detour if you're anywhere near Wauneta.

8. Three-State Overlook, Ponca State Park, near Ponca
This unique overlook lets you see three into three states at once: Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Ponca State Park is located in one of the most scenic spots in eastern Nebraska, and this view of the Missouri River is just unforgettable.

9. Overlook Trails, Scotts Bluff National Monument, near Gering
The monument has several trails from which to view the stunning surroundings. Hike one or hike them all, or take the shuttle both ways if you aren't up for hiking. However you get to the top, make sure to experience this one-of-a-kind view at least once.
