Stay Overnight In An Old One-Room Schoolhouse Right Here In Nebraska
Part of the fun of getting away on vacation is exploring new places and learning new things, and isn’t it the best when you can be in Nebraska to do all of that? This lovely little B&B in central Nebraska is cute, comfortable, and even educational.
Take a trip to Arnold, a little village of fewer than 600 people in Custer County.
This is where you'll find the Center School B&B and Museum. The sweet little one-room schoolhouse was built in 1892, and generations of local kids attended classes there.
Today, the main level of the schoolhouse is a museum that tells the story of this little prairie school. It's full of authentic items from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including books, slates, and desks.
But it manages to fit a kitchen, a bed, two sofas, bathroom, and a sitting area. There's enough room here for a family to stay; with an air mattress on the floor and the two sofas pulled out, there's plenty of space for everyone
Guests at this unique B&B are invited to visit the museum upstairs during their stay. Be sure to stick around long enough in the morning for your delicious home-cooked breakfast!
