The Medina Street Vault is a coffeehouse and bistro in Cairo, a town of fewer than 800 residents. It's the kind of cool, laid-back place that every small town deserves to have.
The name comes from the building's former use as a bank. Recent renovations revealed the original bank vault and vintage tin ceiling tiles.
The locally-owned coffeehouse opened in the summer of 2017 and quickly became a favorite not only for Cairo residents but for folks in surrounding towns as well. The eclectic style inside reflects the owner's own tastes. It's a fun blend of rural Nebraska, big-city coffee shop, and your best friend's house.
On the coffee menu you'll find all of your coffeehouse favorites along with some house creations. Seasonal flavors rotate throughout the year to keep things interesting.
While the coffee absolutely delicious and totally worth a visit on its own, The Medina Street Vault also serves fabulous food made on-site. A full breakfast and lunch menu will satisfy every last craving and leave you with a pleasantly full belly.
The shop's specialty is its cinnamon rolls. They're made from a special recipe that imparts a flaky, perfectly sweet, perfectly addictive quality to these breakfast favorites.
