A Trip To This Charming Nebraska Pumpkin Patch Makes For An Excellent Fall Outing
Fall is finally here, and we can barely contain our excitement. After a long, hot summer, the slightly-cooler air feels so invigorating. Make the most of it by heading out to one of the best attractions that the season has to offer: a family-friendly pumpkin patch. Nebraska has several of these charming attractions to visit, and this one in Norfolk is absolutely darling.
Poppy's Pumpkin Patch may be a familiar name; it's been around since 1999. But it changed hands in 2017, and the family-owned business has grown significantly since then.
This is the perfect place to shop for your pumpkins and gourds this fall, whether you're looking for a traditional fat orange one or an intriguing pink one.
A less adventurous but still super fun activity is the corn pit. It's kind of like a ball pit, but so much more fun to play in. There's also free face painting every weekend!
After your day of running around and making family memories, stop by the little cafe for some refreshments. You really can't call your fall complete until you enjoy a caramel apple, and these don't disappoint.
Or opt for a slice of pie or a brownie. There are also savory options like hot dogs, nachos, and BBQ pork sandwiches, but be prepared to come on a Saturday or Sunday if you want access to the full menu.
There are multiple spots throughout the pumpkin patch that are just perfect for photos. Whether you're taking a casual snap of the kids or shooting your official fall family photos, these rustic backdrops will add that extra special something to your photography.
This doesn’t even cover everything that there is to do at this sweet family farm. You’ll just have to visit for yourself to see it all! Plan to spend a whole day at Poppy’s Pumpkin Patch if you want to experience everything.
There are multiple special events happening all through the fall season. You can even rent some space in a party room or at a fire pit for your own party or other gathering. Find out more on their website or Facebook page.
The pumpkin patch is open from September 18 to October 28 this year. Their hours are 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Admission is $7 for ages 3 and up and $6 for seniors and military members. Visit Poppy’s at 55275 837 Rd., Norfolk, NE.
If you’re looking for fall family fun a little further south, check out this great pumpkin patch with a huge 10-acre corn maze.
