As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Plenty of us are feeling the pressure of a stressful world right now, which makes this the perfect time to break out of your routine and enjoy a stay away from home. There’s a sweet little red cabin in central Nebraska that’s the very picture of rural relaxation, and it will only cost you $54 a night.
Near the town of Gothenburg in Dawson County is a charming farm-stay experience that lets you experience the tranquility of rural Nebraska.
This little red building, once a toolshed, has been converted into a cozy little bunkhouse that's just waiting for you to come and enjoy a relaxing stay.
This comfortable open space has everything you'll need for an overnight or weekend-long stay. Linens, kitchen utensils and cookware, toiletries, and free coffee are all provided. You can also add host-prepared meals on to your stay (for an extra fee).
The bunkhouse can sleep up to six guests. There's a double bed in the main room and two singles in the loft, and you can arrange air mattresses on the floor if needed. Pets are not allowed.
The cabin has its own kitchenette with a coffee maker, mini-fridge, and microwave, as well as a private bathroom. Heating is via a rustic wood-burning stove in the main room.
You won't find a TV or Wi-Fi at the cozy bunkhouse. But you won't have a chance to miss them because you'll be too busy interacting with the dogs, cats, and farm animals on the property.
This is truly a place to connect with nature and enjoy the stillness. Take long walks, go stargazing, or grill some Nebraska beef (available for purchase) on the BBQ outside. Or just cuddle up in front of the fire and read a good book before turning in for a great night's sleep.
