The Meatballs Alone Are Worth A Trip To This Charming Nebraska Neighborhood
You may know the Blackstone District in Omaha as the birthplace of both the Reuben sandwich and butter brickle ice cream. The neighborhood has experienced a rapid revitalization in the past decade or so, and today it’s a foodie’s dream. One of the Blackstone District’s most notable restaurants is a relative newcomer called The Blackstone Meatball.
The beautifully modern restaurant is located at
3910 Harney Street in Omaha.
You might wonder just how many ways a meatball could possibly be served.
The answer, at least at this restaurant, is more than 300 ways.
The menu contains four standard types of meatballs and a rotating "special" selection, along with four standard sauces and one "special" sauce.
When you order, you also choose the style of your meal: a sub, a slider, or a bowl.
If you choose a bowl, you also get to pick what goes under the meatballs: pasta, waffle fries, roasted veggies, salad, cheddar grits, and more.
You could go in every day for weeks and still not taste every possible combination.
If you aren't sure what to order and want to try several combinations at once, get the Meatball Flight: all five types of meatballs and all five types of sauces served with crostini.
There's even a vegan meatball on the menu for those who prefer to keep it light.
Of course, this trendy restaurant serves more than just meatballs. Try the baked ziti, lasagna, soup...
...fried mozzarella balls, BBQ beef sub, onion rings, and all of the other mouthwatering options on the menu.
No matter what you order, you're going to leave full and happy. What's heartier than fresh meatballs with house-made sauce on your choice of base?
Nothing, that's what.
You'll also find a pleasantly diverse menu of cocktails and beers to accompany your very own meatball creation. Plenty of non-alcoholic beverages are served as well.
