We love Nebraska’s small towns; they’re full of history, natural beauty, and good people. Here’s a quaint little town that offers so much to see and do that you’ll want to spend the entire day (or a weekend!). Beware, though…this town will steal your heart forever.
Ashland is a little town with around 2,500 residents. It's located in Saunders County, in the eastern part of the state, and it's so charming that you're sure to fall in love with it when you visit.
The first thing you'll notice about this town is its sense of community. It's a warm, tight-knit town where people help each other out. You're likely to get a friendly wave when you roll through, and if you need directions, folks are happy to assist.
If you love the outdoors, Ashland is a great destination. You'll want to stop by the Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari at 16406 292nd St., Ashland, NE 68003.
The four-mile-long drive takes you past tons of beautiful North American animals. You'll be in awe of the huge elk, adorable prairie dogs, and quirky pelicans here.
Challenge yourself at the Go Ape Zip Line & Treetop Adventure, where you can walk amongst the trees while balancing and navigating the various obstacles in the sky.
This museum is chock-full of aircraft and spacecraft, and you'll enjoy strolling through both the indoor and outdoor spaces to learn more about the history of these feats of engineering. The museum is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it's located at 28210 West Park Highway.
