While we can't quite put our finger on it, there's something consistently delightful about eating at West Virginia's diners. Perhaps it's the home-cooked food or often nostalgic-like atmospheres, but whatever the case may be, we can't help but pull over for a meal when we happen to drive by one of the Mountain State's long-standing diners. See why we can't get enough of the dessert menu at Mountain View Diner.
Easy to spot along the roadside in Charles Town, Mountain View Diner is one of our favorite places to visit in West Virginia.
Mountain View Diner has been open since 2000, quickly earning a loyal following of customers and the reputation of being the best diner in this area of West Virginia.
If you ask around town, you'll hear people raving about the diner's authentic Greek dishes like their tzatziki, spanakopita, lamb kampama, shish kebabs, and other authentic eats.
Of course, this is a diner though, so you can expect classic American dishes here as well. There's something for everyone!
While you're dining at the Mountain View Diner though, you'll quickly begin to notice that most people's tables feature delicious desserts.
At this Charles Town diner, you'll get to enjoy the view of an amazing display full of homemade pie and cakes.
All baked from scratch, around this time of year you'll find people from all over West Virginia heading to this diner to place their orders for whole pies and cakes for major holidays like Thanksgiving. They're that good!
Lining the shelves, you'll see everything from the famous New York-style strawberry cheesecake, to fruit pies, and lemon meringue pies.
You'll also take note of the chocolate cakes that look too good to go anywhere near, and all the other desserts that are made here in the diner's kitchen.
So, pull over and save room for dessert, because at the Mountain View Diner in Charles Town, one of the best sections of the menu is the dessert portion!
