If you're looking for an easy hike for a spring day in VT, look no further than the Quechee Gorge Dewey Pond Trail. This 1.4 mile out and back hike is fun for the whole family, and with lots of wildlife around there is always something to see. Not to mention, you'll be at Vermont's Little Grand Canyon so the views from above will be spectacular, too! Let's take a look at this wonderful trek that everyone is sure to love.
To start this great hike, park in the Dewey’s Mills Pond parking lot in Hartford.
This flat and easy walk starts between the pond and the beautiful Ottauquechee River.
Keep your eyes peeled for birdwatching!
You may find some fishermen at the fork. Maybe you'll want to bring your own rod!
The water is flowing and beautiful, perfect for a breeze on a Spring day.
There are also many places for a dip if you want to cool down.
The trail will end at the Ottauquechee Dam
and Waterfalls, but you could keep going if you wish.
There is a lovely picnic area just beyond the dam so be sure to pack a picnic and enjoy!
