Situated above beautiful Heber Valley, you will find Jordanelle State Park. During the summer, this state park is paradise if you wish to spend time outdoors. There are all types of recreational opportunities from camping and swimming to fishing and hiking — but the fun doesn’t stop when summer comes to a close. Many people don’t know that Jordanelle State Park offers one of the best holiday light displays in Utah. Even better, you will enjoy these lights while being pulled in a wagon behind Percheron draft horses.

When you want to get into the holiday spirit and feel the magic of Christmas, Jordanelle State Park is the place to go. From mid-November and throughout December, this state park in Utah offers quite a dazzling holiday light display.

You will see thousands of twinkling Christmas lights and displays that transform this state park into the most festive setting. Especially after a snowfall, you will feel like you are in the midst of an enchanting winter wonderland.

This isn’t your typical holiday light display. Rather, you will enjoy these lights while on a horse-drawn wagon ride. The wagons are pulled by a team of Percheron draft horses and the entire experience is magical.

Each ride is approximately 20 minutes. You can bundle up under a blanket and even enjoy some hot chocolate, cider, and s’mores that are available to purchase.

You'll want to bring your entire family along for the ride and the light show. Tickets are required and you can pay per person or reserve a small private wagon for up to six individuals or a large private wagon for up to 15 people. Children ages two and under are free.

Wagon rides are available Thursday through Saturday evenings between November 24, 2023, and December 30, 2023, with the exception of Christmas week when rides are available Tuesday and Wednesday. Rides begin at 6:00 p.m. and run until 9:00 p.m. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday evening, you may just see Santa visiting as well!
