Tennessee is known for its lush and dense natural beauty, but we still have a few tricks up our sleeve! Just when you think you know ol' Rocky Top, there are a couple of gorgeous natural hideaways that are still perfectly unknown. This gorgeous waterfall is tucked away in Fall Creek Falls State Park, and we have a feeling you may have seen it before.
Located in Fall Creek Falls State Park, Cane Creek Cascades gushes forty-five feet to a beautiful pool of clear water below, and it makes for one of the most beautiful experiences in the park.
Fall Creek Falls State Park is actually the most visited state park in Tennessee, but Cane Creek Cascades seems to miss out on the love in lieu of the more popular - you guessed it - Fall Creek Falls.
There's a suspension bridge that crosses Cane Creek just above the falls, and it's a popular location for hikers and photographers alike. If you follow the creek further into Cane Creek Gorge, you'll eventually come upon a sister waterfall, Cane Creek Falls.
There are actually six falls total in the park: Cane Creek Falls, Cane Creek Cascades, Coon Creek Falls, Piney Creek Falls, Rockhouse Falls, and the eponymous Fall Creek Falls. At just an hour from Nashville, this beautiful state park is perfect for hiking.
There are 34 miles of hiking trails that cut their way through the park, and there are even overnight trails if you're more of an adrenaline seeker. Granted, you won't find yourself at the cascades in the middle of the night, but it's still a neat Tennessee experience to spend time in nature.
There are quite a few folks that enjoy using the gorgeous, watery pool beneath the cascades as a swimming hole in the summertime. We'd like to caution you to use your best judgment and to always visit with a partner.
Have you been to Cane Creek Cascades? Have you made it to Fall Creek Falls State Park? Gorgeous any time of year, we'd recommend visiting during the warmer months, but if you bundle up there's nothing like an icy waterfall in the wintertime.
You can see it a bit better from here,
Isn't Cane Creek Cascades one of the best kept secrets in the state? You can continue to explore our beautiful homeland with a visit to one of these gorgeous local sights.
