It's been roughly 65 million years since a brontosaurus, T-Rex, or other now-extinct dinosaurs freely roamed through the woods in what is now the North American continent, but this summer in South Carolina they are back with a vengeance. And the one place in the whole state where you can see them (through August 7, 2021) is at Roper Mountain Science Center, a family-oriented science academy in Greenville.
Go online and reserve your timed entry tickets for this event and then RUN, don't walk, over to Greenville to get in on the action.
If you never thought you'd see a dinosaur in the woods in South Carolina, then think again!
Although the dinosaurs on the Dino Trail are life-size and life-LIKE, this event is perfectly suited to the smallest members of the family. If you have a little one who is crazy about dinosaurs, then this is the place to be!
From the pterodactyl to the triceratops and many more, the dinos here are sure to thrill everyone in the family.
The trail and the center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and this exhibit is available through August 7, 2021.
But the new dinosaur trail isn't the only thing your admission to Roper Mountain Science Center gets you.
You'll get priority admission into the brand new $12.2 million Environmental Science and Sustainability Center, a pass for the traveling indoor "Be The Dinosaur" exhibit, you can pet a stingray in the Marine Lab, venture through the Living History Farm (open until 2 p.m.), and much more.
Roper Mountain is also home to the Hooper Planetarium where, throughout the summer, you can purchase tickets to Friday Starry Nights and enjoy a world of after-dark activities at the center, too.
Tickets for the Dinosaur Trail (and daytime admission to the center) are $12 for adults and teens, $10 for children ages 4-12, $10 for seniors age 60 and over, and $10 for those with a military ID.
