Warm weather in Rhode Island brings the opportunity to head out to our favorite local farms to harvest our own fruits. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and more are ripe for the picking. But there's a different kind of field that offers a summertime feast for your eyes and the chance to bring home a sunny bouquet of sunflowers. Put on some sunscreen and pack the cameras, it's time for a trip to Dame Farm & Orchards for their annual pick your own sunflowers event!
April showers bring May flowers but July fireworks bring August sunflowers and there's no better place to see them or pick them than at Dame Farm & Orchards in Johnston.
The 2019 season has arrived and the fields are awash with bold yellow blooms. Take a journey through this floral bonanza on the farm.
You can pick your own bouquet or just wander through the rows of flowers. Bring your cameras, this photo-taking paradise won't last all summer!
Create your own bold bouquet for just $18 per dozen or $1.75 per stem. This year the farm has also planted a pretty zinnia field open for picking too!
When you're done in the fields of flowers head over to the blueberry patches for more pick-your-own fun! Pluck the ripe fruit right off the bushes to take home with you.
The farm supplies a five-pint bucket that you can fill for $15. If you want smaller quantities, there are pre-picked berries for purchase at the farm stand.
Round up the family and head out to the countryside for a day at the farm. Pick your own sunflowers and blueberries for a summer outing all ages will love.
Visit Dame Farm & Orchards and their incredible sunflower fields before the season ends. The entrance fee for the flower fields is $5 for visitors ages 10 and up, $2 for kids ages 4 - 9, and children 3 and under can visit for free.
