Are you ready for an incredible challenge that culminates with spectacular views from high atop a mountain? Then, plan a visit to Pine Grove Furnace State Park.
Park at the Pole Steeple Trail parking lot, off of Railroad Road and not far from Laurel Lake.
Fair warning: Pole Steeple Trail comes with the reward of unforgettable views. However, it also features a challenging, steep climb for much of its .75 miles.
That said, are you ready for an unforgettable adventure that will give you up-close views of the "quartz rock outcropping" that formed during the Last Pangea?
Pets and children are permitted on the steep trail. However, be sure to keep an eye on both to ensure their safety.
At the top of Piney Mountain, you'll find the Pole Steep Overlook, a rocky formation with unbelievable views.
Drink in sweeping views of the entirety of Pine Grove Furnace State Park, including Laurel Lake and the South Mountain, from the overlook.
Pine Grove Furnace State Park is open all year-round from sunrise to sunset.
