Oklahoma Has A New Whitewater Park And Adventure Seekers Will Want To Plan A Trip

Amidst the awe-inspiring Ozark Mountains, adventure enthusiasts now have a compelling reason to pack their bags and make their way to Watts, Oklahoma. The Waters of Oklahoma and Arkansas (WOKA) Whitewater Park, a thrilling collaboration between the Grand River Dam Authority and the City of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, has recently opened its doors, evolving into a nationally renowned whitewater adventure destination.

WOKA Whitewater Park provides an unparalleled setting for outdoor enthusiasts. Just recently, on September 16, the park celebrated its Grand Opening Weekend, welcoming adventurers to experience the thrill of its newly unveiled whitewater attractions.

At WOKA, convenience is key, as it operates as a cashless facility, exclusively accepting card payments and Apple Pay for your transactions. Additionally, for visitors arriving by car, please note that there is a dedicated parking lot available, and a nominal fee is required for parking access.

Construction has been completed, resulting in a remarkable 1,200-foot long, 100-foot wide side channel off of the Illinois River that boasts a thrilling array of 8 exhilarating whitewater features.

For those looking to rent equipment, WOKA offers a range of options, ensuring you find the perfect vessel to suit your needs and skill level. The park also has on-site changing facilities, restrooms, and shaded viewing areas for added convenience. Nearby mountain bike trails provide additional opportunities for outdoor exploration.

Enjoy a family adventure on the water with their spacious tubes designed for 2-4 people, accommodating varying weights. The family tube boasts a maximum weight capacity of 600 lbs., ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Visitors can choose from a variety of exciting activities. For the more adventurous souls, there's kayaking, surfing, and tubing down the rapids. Stand-up paddle boarding offers a serene way to soak in the beauty of the surroundings, while waterfront spectator seating allows you to watch the excitement unfold.

Before embarking on your tubing adventure, it's important to consult the WOKA River Gauge for the latest conditions, to ensure safety remains a priority.
