No matter what season it is, you can find a gorgeous garden blooming in Ohio—if you know where to look, that is.
The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus is a true treasure. Year-round, you'll encounter stunning displays. The Orchid Show is particularly beautiful, as it blooms in the dead of winter, welcoming spring. This year, the exhibit is extra special. Here's why you'll want to stroll through this colorful sea of orchids before the show ends:
As one of the most beautiful places in all of Ohio, Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a must-visit for every Ohioan at least once.
Fun fact: The conservatory in this 90-acre urban park was modeled after the Glass Palace at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
Orchids: Celebrating 125 Years takes place from January 11 - March 8, 2020.
You can visit daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This year's show is extra special because it kicks off a year-long celebration of the 125th anniversary of the John F. Wolfe Palm House and the Dorothy M. Davis Show House.
Admission to the orchid show is included in general admission, which is $19 for adults and $12 of children ages 3 - 12. Senior admission is $16.
Looking up, down and all around, you'll take in a wide variety of orchids, varying in size, color and even shape.

The 2020 orchid show celebrates the Victorian era. It features Victorian flower displays, orchid columns, Wardian cases, and even a large-scale mirror installation.
As an added bonus, members of the Central Ohio Orchid Society will be available every Sunday at the exhibit form 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. for any questions you might have abut growing orchids.
If you're an orchid (or Victorian Era) enthusiast, this is one Ohio exhibit you don't want to miss. It's refreshingly beautiful after a long winter.
