This year, one of Ohio's most unique Christmas attractions is opening a week early. The Christmas Cave at White Gravel Mines in Minford features unique illuminations, thousands of lights and biblical scenes depicting the birth of Christ via a mile-long system of passageways within the mines. This year, there are 4 parking lots to accommodate crowds, outdoor light displays and additional biblical scenes. Come see what's new—or experience the magic for the first time—at this one-of-a-kind Christmas attraction that's truly unlike any other display in Ohio.
Each year, more than 33,000 people flock to the small town of Minford, Ohio to encounter the magic of The Christmas Cave at White Gravel Mines.
Admission to The Christmas Cave is free, but a $1 donation at the entrance to the cave is appreciated. Parking is $2 per car (and $5 for passenger vans.) The short walk uphill to the cave can seem steep and fairly muddy after rain, so come prepared. Note: The cave is only handicap accessible on select dates. The Christmas Cave opens on November 22 this year, one weekend earlier than previous years. It is open from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. every Friday and Saturday until December 21.
You can visit The Christmas Cave on November 22, 23, 29 and 30 and on December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21.
You'll encounter 17 biblical scenes along your journey that depict the story of the birth of Christ. Next to each scene, you'll find written information about the story of Christ's birth.
This year, some outdoor displays have been added as well.
