We can't think of a better way to spend the morning, afternoon, or even all day than at an underrated and littlle-known zoo park located 35 miles north of Charlotte. Zootastic, a privately-owned and operated zoo in Troutman, opened in 2009 and earns rave reviews daily from visitors. A day spent here is sure to be one that creates lasting memories for everyone.
There are many ways to enjoy a day at Zootastic, including several animal encounters. Among them is a 15-minute encounter with a two-toed sloth.
This sweet creature spends most of its life hanging upside down from trees. It even gives birth while hanging upside down.
The park offers 15-minute encounters with baby two-toed sloths. The sessions are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and cost $150. But this isn't the only baby animal encounter you can enjoy at Zootastic.
Imagine holding or even feeding a baby kangaroo!
For $75 you can have an experience of a lifetime with a baby kangaroo. Kangaroo encounters in the wild are unheard of in the U.S. So it's easy to see the appeal of spending even 15 minutes of one-on-one time with one.
You can enjoy a whole day at this zoo park. Zootastic has, well, an entire zoo to enjoy. There are a few admission options:
Purchase a ticket that allows you to drive through the zoo and walk through the zoo.
Ages 12 and older cost $15; children 2-11 cost $13, and seniors 65 and older cost $13.
A second option is to purchase a ticket for the drive-through part of the zoo only.
Ages 12 and older cost $10; children 2-11 cost $8, and seniors 65 and older cost $8.
Whichever option you select, you can add on a special animal encounter for a unique way to enjoy the animals in a one-on-one experience.
