North Carolina's coastal beaches (10 are listed here) guarantee fun in the sun (as long as its sunny), but you don't have to travel all the way to the coast to enjoy the spoils of a great beach. There are plenty of hidden beaches in the mountains too. Take a look at the one below and then begin making plans to go check it out in person!
The natural water park along the shores of Lake Lure is snuggled into a large cove in the lake. It's flanked by big beautiful mountains in every direction you look.
The beach is owned by the Town of Lake Lure and managed by Lake Lure Tours. And whatever your pleasure, you're certain to find it here, starting with a water park complete with slides, a featured water balloon game — and even beach volleyball.
Want to rent a kayak? How about a paddle board? You can do that here. They also have canoes and pedal boats. Don't worry... there is a special (large) area set aside just for swimmers.
Just imagine yourself, spending the day on this beach with these views! And when you need to cool down, you can either hit the lake or hit the beach-side splash park. Both the young — and the young at heart — love cooling off in the splash fountain.
Lake Lure Beach opens seven days a week beginning Saturday June 9, 2018. The season usually runs through Labor Day Weekend.

Lake Lure Beach is located at 2724 Memorial Hwy., Lake Lure, NC 28746. The typical season begins prior to Memorial Day with weekend openings only. In early June, the beach and water park open seven days per week, usually through Labor Day. Entrance fees include both the beach and water park. The cost is: $9 adults, $8 seniors, $7 kids ages 4-12 and 45 inches or taller, children under the age of 4 are free. The beach includes a beach house with facilities, and a store where you can purchase towels, chairs, sunscreen, floats and more. Kayak, canoe, paddle boards and pedal boat rentals are available.
