Here in New Hampshire, we love our farms – and like people everywhere, we also love a great baked good. So what could be better than some of the best pastries you've ever had, made on one of the most charming farms in the Granite State? Mayfair Farm in Harrisville has been around since 2011, and in the years since it's gained a well-deserved reputation as one of the best contributors to the New Hampshire food scene – both in terms of the meat they raise and the pastries they bake.
It goes past baked goods and picturesque farms, though – buy products from this farm and you'll know you're supporting genuinely good people, who have overcome some real adversity (one of their barns burned down in 2017). These folks are real fixtures in their community, and their business is a perfect example of what's so great about New Hampshire.
The farm's major area of operation is humanely raising pigs and sheep for meat – these animals have pretty darn good lives roaming the farm and eating the highest quality foods. That must be why the meat you can get here is so darn tasty!
While the farm's focus is on raising pork and lamb, one of the farmers has quite a talent for baking – so much so that her cakes, cookies, and more are now sold by a number of shops in New Hampshire and the Boston area. Of course, you can still find fresh goodies in the farm store – and we promise it's worth the trip!
Somehow, everything made at Mayfair is just plain perfect. You'll daydream about their brownies for weeks after trying them. Lucky for you, you can order them online if you can't make a trip back to the farm!
Don't think you're a biscotti fan? Try theirs and you'll change your mind. You'll want to buy a few extra bags, they're surprisingly addictive!
Their more savory delights are spectacular as well – you'll adore the quiche and the shepherd's pie.
Getting married or planning a big event? Consider hosting it in the gorgeous party barn on the farm and enjoy their delicious catering! The wedding cake is sure to be spectacular. They also cater offsite, and occasionally offer farm dinners.
Of course, while you're at the farm, you'll want to pick up some of their fresh meat or incredible sausages.
In addition to meat and baked goods, the farm store sells some Mayfair-grown produce, supplemented with more fruits and veggies and other products from nearby farms.
You can find Mayfair Farm at 31 Clymers Dr. Harrisville, NH 03450, and learn more about the farm and where to find their baked goods on their website.
