We all know of Minnesota's natural beauty, but every now and then it's okay to pause and appreciate the stunning features that have been created by people as well. These man made wonders in many ways accentuate and provide some of Minnesota's most iconic views, and we enjoy visiting them as much as a good hike through the MN wilderness.
1. Split Rock Lighthouse.
Minnesotans just can't seem to get enough of this iconic North Shore structure, and neither can we! It's photo-ready at all times, standing magnificent above the rugged cliff below.
2. The Iron Range Lakes
The lakes and surrounding mountains created by water collecting in these old mines are absolutely stunning. The red and green landscape provide a gorgeous contrast with the blue waters and there are amazing things to be found below the surface! Grab your scuba gear!
3. Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
The Landscape Arboretum is beautiful no matter the season, but Spring in particular shows how people are capable of producing gardens that truly embody the natural beauty of the world.
4. The Swinging Bridge at Jay Cooke State Park.
This man-made masterpiece has gone through many a trying phase, actually being destroyed and rebuilt, however, it is worth the effort to keep this marvelous piece of architecture alive over the river.
5. St. Mary's Basilica
This gorgeous basilica in Minneapolis is always stunning in photographs - and wait until you see the inside!
6. The Lakewood Memorial Chapel
Modeled after the Hagia Sophia, this chapel is absolutely the most gorgeous around. Its intricate detail makes it the perfect place to admire the stunning possibilities of architecture.
7. Stone Arch Bridge
Minneapolis' iconic Stone Arch Bridge is a man-made marvel that sits beautifully in front of the Mississippi River Front.
8. South Breakwater Outer Lighthouse
While the entire harbor in Duluth offers unbelievable views, the South Breakwater Outer Lighthouse is always amazing in photos with its colorful roof and unique silhouette.
9. The Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum
This mirrored masterpiece might seem odd to some tastes, but it is definitely an architectural wonder. Watching the suns rays slowly spread across the reflective walls is a view you can't ever forget.
10. Aerial Lift Bridge
Duluth's aerial lift bridge is one of the most picturesque landmarks in MN, regardless of weather!
11. Enger Tower
Standing resolutely above Duluth, Enger Tower provides a stunning silhouette and some of the best views on the North Shore.
