There’s something powerful yet calming about this beautiful body of water, and we often find ourselves strolling along its banks when we need a break from everyday life. When you’re ready to enjoy a delicious meal on the shores of our favorite river, look no further than these nine Detroit restaurants.

1. Andiamo Riverfront (400 Renaissance Center A-03)

If you’re in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine with an unforgettable view, Andiamo might just be the perfect eatery for you. This elegant locale sits on the shores of the Detroit River and delights diners with its wide array of wine and dishes. From fresh pasta to tasty salads, there’s something here for everyone.

2. The Rattlesnake Club (300 River Place Dr.)

This iconic Detroit locale has amazed diners with its high-quality service and unbeatable riverfront location for over 25 years. As soon as you step inside, it’s easy to see why this restaurant continues to bring customers back for seconds. With locally grown ingredients and some of the most mouthwatering small plates imaginable, you’re truly in for a treat at the Rattlesnake Club.

3. Sindbad’s Restaurant and Marina (100 St. Clair St.)

Since 1949, this fantastic seafood restaurant has offered visitors some of the prettiest marina views in the entirety of the Motor City. Gaze out at the Detroit River as you indulge in an order of salmon, steak, or coconut shrimp salad. If your mouth isn’t watering yet, it will be as soon as you arrive at Sindbad’s.

4. Signature Grill (250 Riverfront Dr.)

You’ll enjoy beautiful river views from the tall windows at this incredible eatery, which prides itself on providing quality American fare in an unbeatable location. Before the closure of our beloved Joe Louis Arena, Signature Grill served as a popular pre- and post-game spot. Today, it maintains a level of excellence by providing delicious eats and friendly service.

5. Joe Muer Seafood (400 Renaissance Center #1404)

When you’re searching for great seafood in Detroit, it’s tough to beat the prowess of Joe Muer. This classic restaurant combines lovely glimpses of the waterfront with a truly unbeatable menu - and your taste buds are certainly in for a treat. From sushi to lobster bisque to grilled swordfish, there’s a seafood option here to delight every member of the family.

6. The Apparatus Room (Detroit Foundation Hotel, 250 W Larned St.)

8. The Waterfront Wyandotte (507 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte)

Take a short trip outside the city to this restaurant in Wyandotte, which sits peacefully on the banks of the Detroit River. While the brewery doesn’t offer direct river views, it’s just a short walk from the waterfront, and you’ll be delighted by both its friendly service and lovely location.
