Looking to combine your exercise regimen with a bit of…pizza? You’re in luck. Head to the town of Lincoln for some great hiking trails that are conveniently (suspiciously?) placed right next to one of the best little pizza shops around.
Is this the most delicious hiking outing ever? We’ll let you (and your tastebuds) be the judge.
Tucked away in the pretty town of Lincoln, there are two beautiful green spaces that are just begging to be explored. And it doesn’t hurt that both put you within striking distance of one of the best pizza parlors in the state.
To start your culinary trek, head to Lincoln Center and opt for either the Codman Lands park area or the Mass Audubon’s Drumlin Farm area. Both spaces are just minutes from Lincoln Station by foot. Both swathes of conservation land offer easy, pretty trails that are perfect for casual hikers and photographers. Drumlin Farm also allows guests to visit with and learn about farm animals.
If you feel like going further afield, be sure to check out the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum (51 Sandy Pond Road). There, you can gaze out over stunning vistas and soak up a bit of free culture at the same time.
Once you’re ready for some refueling, walk three minutes down the road from the Drumlin Farm entrance on Lincoln Road (directly opposite Lincoln Station) to experience some truly fantastic slices at Country Pizza.
This place is actually set into a gas station, but don’t let that put you off! Lincoln locals and in-the-know travelers have been coming here for years. They serve amazing pizza and calzones that are just the thing after a few hours on your feet.
You don’t want to pass up this delicious opportunity to get some steps in and then indulge in yummy pizza. Hiking and feasting are a match made in heaven.
