1. Cypremort Point

There’s not much around Cypremort Point, and that’s a good thing. The Cypremort Point State Park is an ideal spot to do a little fishing, and the views overlooking Vermilion Bay are truly mesmerizing. Stick around until sunset - you won’t regret it.

2. Lake Martin

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the beauty of Lake Martin, one of the reason is appeals to nature lovers from all walks of life. You can drive down and see the lake from your car, or you can take a stroll along the nature trail. For a completely immersive experience, rent a canoe and paddle out into the waters so you can see the lake from an entirely new perspective.

3. Bogue Falaya Park

Tucked away in downtown Covington, Bogue Falaya Park is a great spot to park it for those moments when you just need a little break from it all. There’s a lovely seating area near the river where you can just sit back and watch the Bogue Falaya River move along, and you might just have the spot all to yourself.

4. Longleaf Vista Recreation Area

This picture-perfect spot is located in the heart of the Kisatchie National Forest, and the best part is that you can have this grand view right from your car, but you’ll want to get out and walk around. Pack a snack and enjoy a little picnic on one of the nearby tables for a delightfully scenic afternoon.

5. Huckleberry Park and Nature Area

If you want to get away from it all, head over to this hidden gem in Ruston. Open daily from dawn to dusk, you’ll have a splendid time exploring the 23 wooded acres of scenery here.

6. Tunica Hills WMA

If you love hiking, you’ll love traversing the rugged terrain over at Tunica Hills. The area is split up into two separate tracts, combined they make up over 6,000 acres of some of the most incredible scenery in Louisiana. Rugged hills, bluffs, and ravines all make up the landscape in this untouched beauty.

7. Poverty Point

History lovers will be on cloud nine visiting this World Heritage Site. Nearly 3,500 years in the making, the site was once a thriving ancient city, a trading post, ceremonial center, and so much more. Historians and archaeologists are still trying to piece together their daily lives, and during your visit, you’ll be able to view all of the artifacts that have been unearthed.

8. Grand Isle State Park

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or an avid birdwatcher, Grand Isle State Park is just the spot. Enjoy beautiful Gulf views, the wind in your hair, and the sand between your toes at this scenic spot.
