When vacationing, it can be difficult to settle on a place where everyone can find something to enjoy. For your next family vacation, consider renting a cabin at this delightful state park in Louisiana, where you'll never run out of things to do.
One of the most underrated state parks in Louisiana, Lake D’Arbonne State Park is one of the best hidden gems in Union Parish.
At 655 acres, it’s not one of the larger state parks, but this park packs a punch with its rolling hills, luscious greenery, hiking trails, and the centerpiece of the park: Lake D’Arbonne.
The 15,250-acre lake is a popular spot to fish for northern Louisianians looking to take home some bream, catfish, or bass.
In the warmer months, the wide open areas of the lake attract water-skiers, tubers, and general casual boating.
No boat? No problem. You can rent one of their canoes and adventure off along the shores to see the park from an entirely new perspective.
In addition to the tennis courts, fishing piers, and cycling trails, the park is also has a disc golf course and several hiking trails.
The network of trails will lead you through the rolling hills and underneath towering pines with the always mesmerizing lake views.
And don’t forget about the swimming pool. There’s nothing like relaxing pool side with a good book!
You’ll end up loving your time here so much you won’t want to leave. Luckily, there are several cabins available to rent, plus primitive campsites and RV hook-ups.
The cabins can sleep up to 14 people, not including their group camp which can sleep up to 52. So no matter how large or small your party is, they have a cabin that will suit your needs.
And all of the cabins come with everything you’ll need during your stay. Just bring yourself and some food to cook over the grill and you’re ready for one epic weekend.
