Sitting on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille near Sandpoint, Green Bay is a rocky little beach that boasts awe-inspiring views of the lake and wonderful recreation opportunities. It's a stunning destination that every Idahoan should see for themselves.
Green Bay is perhaps most notable for its pristine campground. Nestled right along the shoreline, camping here is a blissful experience that you're bound to adore. Of course, access to the lake is top-notch, but there are also plenty of hiking trails that are perfect for exploring the area.
Green Bay is famously one of the best places to enjoy Lake Pend Oreille's majestic beauty. The water seems to be exceptionally clear here, and the beach is surrounded by gorgeous rock outcroppings which punctuate the lake's beauty.
Additionally, the beach features a lovely feeling of solitude, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy the lake without the crowds. The access road to Green Bay is quite steep, but the journey is worth it for this sense of remoteness and tranquility.
The campground features several rustic camping sites, complete with picnic tables, barbecue grills, and vault toilets. It's definitely no-frills, but this just allows you to truly appreciate the gorgeous location.
Activities at Green Bay are endless. Boating, sailing, swimming, and fishing, are all common activities at the beach. In the summer, the lake's waters are especially refreshing so be sure to bring a swimsuit!

To get to Green Bay Campground, you'll travel five miles south of Sandpoint on Highway 95 before turning east onto Sagle Road. You'll then travel 7 miles to Garfield bay Road and past the county recreation site. Turn onto the Garfield Bay Cutoff Road and turn right onto Green Bay Road. Turn right at the fork in the road after one mile and descend into the beach's parking area.
