These 10 Incredible Farmers Markets In Idaho Are A Must Visit

In case our potato-friendly reputation wasn't a big enough indication already, Idaho is quite the agricultural state. And you know what that means? Fresh food all the time! Come spring, every corner has a market of some kind, and roadside fruit stands up and down our rural highways are a welcome sight as friendly Idahoans share their abundance with neighbors and locals. What a great state to live in!

These 10 markets of every size are top-notch in their offerings and combine stellar entertainment with the organic, fresh, and delicious edibles you've been craving all winter. Even better: while the largest markets are often centered in Idaho's major cities, they feature rotating vendors from even our smallest communities. Go local!

1. Kootenai County Farmers Market

Starting in May, this county-wide market will showcase homegrown produce, handmade soaps and crafts, and delicious fresh-baked and canned confections to suit every taste, all offered alongside Idaho's newest EBT/Double Up Bucks program. Early in the season, they will also offer tree starts, seedlings, and infant blooms to get that garden of your own started! The best part? They have a winter market as well for vendors to sell their seasonal gourds and holiday edibles.

Kootenai County Farmers Markets: held at two locations, every Wednesday and Saturday, 9am - 1:30pm (May - October).

2. Eagle Saturday Market

Hip, modern, and featuring recipe challenges, cooking demos, live music, and an artists' series, Eagle's weekly market offers much, much more than just local food.

3. Moscow Farmers Market

When a market is located on Friendship Square, you can assume there is an awesome community vibe happening! 5. Portneuf Valley Farmers Market

Hosting vendors from all across valley, Southeastern Idaho's largest market has grown to over 100 vendors since it began in 1990. From floral arrangements and unique sauces to fresh meats, this isn't a market to miss!

6. Farmers Market at Sandpoint

Held at Farmin Park, Sandpoint's diverse community market is home to dozens of street food and produce vendors, education opportunities, and local entertainment performances, rain or shine.

7. Bonners Ferry Farmers Market

Scenic Bonners Ferry might not seem like the ideal location for a summer market, but with such rich soil and harvests, this lush Northern city never fails to have a fantastic vendor lineup. As one of the oldest markets in the state, held annually since 1980, you'll find a community here that is as unique and vibrant as its produce and offerings.

8. Boise Farmers Market

Produce is everywhere here, but so are fresh flowers, honey, organic condiments, unique canned goods, and locally-sourced products from craftsmen and farmers throughout the valley.
