The best part about summertime in Idaho is discovering new places to sit back, relax, and soak up those summer vibes. Tucked away in Twin Falls is a little known gem known as Dierkes Lake. This popular swimming spot is the town's best-kept secret. Hidden by towering cliffs right next to the Snake River, it's easy to miss this awesome spot. However, you'll definitely want to go out of your way to find it. Not only does this place offer amazing spots to swim, dive, and jump into the lake, but the scenery is simply out of this world. This place is bound to become one of your favorite spots to pass the time this summer!
Most people don't realize that hiding next to Shoshone Falls Park is the wonderful swimming destination known as Dierkes Lake. This little-known hidden lake beach is a favorite among locals for fulfilling all of their swimming and splashing desires.
Surrounded by stunning scenery, the lake includes a designated area specifically for swimming that is encased by a floating dock. There's really no better way to spend a summer day than on this beautiful lake.
Surrounded by towering cliffs of basalt rock, the lake feels like a secret paradise. The lake is located right outside of Twin Falls, but it really feels like you've been transported to a remote region of Idaho that's far away from civilization.
You'll find endless amounts of fun at the lake. Sunbathe on the dock, wade in the swimming area, or set up a picnic in the grassy area beside the lake. You could spend all day here and not get bored.
The floating dock is perfect for jumping into the lake. However, thrill seekers won't be able to resist jumping from one of the small cliffs around the swimming area.
There's even a diving board to try out your backflips from! Or a simple cannonball. The temperature and depth of the water is pitch perfect for any tricks you may have up your sleeve.
Dierkes Lake is also a popular fishing destination. Ask a Twin Falls native where they caught their first fish and they'll likely say it was here. This prime fishing hole contains species such as trout, sturgeon, whitefish, bass, and lots more.
We may not have ocean beaches here in Idaho, but who needs them? Nothing beats spending the day swimming around a beautiful lake beach like this one. The views are incredible and the water is perfect, so be sure to put Dierkes Lake on your bucket list this summer.
