Considering our golden region of the state is full of unique and creative people, you're bound to discover some quirky places when exploring it. The Geyserville Sculpture Trail is just one instance of a unique attraction that you can truly only find in a place like Northern California! Comprised of dozens of one-of-a-kind creations, this outdoor sculpture park is a must-stop when you find yourself in the area.
The little community of Geyserville in Sonoma County is as charming as can be with a nice selection of restaurants, wineries, and B&Bs. It's a fantastic place to stop when you find yourself traveling along CA-128, even if it's only to see the Geyserville Sculpture Trail!
You might not expect it from such a small town, but it turns out Geyserville is also a haven for art enthusiasts. Traversing the town's Sculpture Trail is a great way to explore the community while enjoying some unique and larger-than-life pieces of art.
The trail can be found along Geyserville Avenue and boasts more than 25 sculptures. A printable map of the trail along with descriptions of the sculptures can be found here.
One of the trail's most iconic sculptures is a large, 25-foot-tall galloping horse named "Victory." Created by artist Bryan Tedrick, the sculpture was given this name because of the fact that it survived the destruction of Tedrick's studio by the October 2017 wildfires.
The trail is sponsored by the Geyserville Community Foundation and it's a delightful surprise for visitors who happen to stumble upon it. The trail itself isn't long—it basically loops around a small park area—but you'll savor every quirky moment of it.
In all, there are 27 sculptures to look at with new additions being installed regularly. Take a look at them all and see which one is your favorite! I'm personally partial to "Barrel Man with Bottle" by Victor Trentadue.
Easily accessible right at the Geyserville Exit from Highway 101, you'll want to make it your mission to visit the Geyserville Sculpture Trail soon. Come and see what wacky sculptures are waiting for you!
