As Montanans, it’s important to take pride in our state (which we never have a problem with) and keep it as clean and pristine as we possibly can. That’s why, when we discover new spots in nature that we love, we can leave them better than we found them. This is especially true for our natural swimming holes, with that clean Montana water cascading down and keeping us cool all summer long. We also appreciate it when our visitors from out of state treat our beautiful land with respect while enjoying it.

This summer, treat yourself to a trip way up north to the Yaak Valley. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, it’s home to a tiered waterfall that flows right into a perfect swimming spot. If you prefer to swim in rivers and lakes rather than in public pools, this is the place for you.

The Yaak Valley is less than 50 miles from the Canadian border, way up in the northwest part of Montana.
