Add A Trip To Augusta, One Of Montana’s Last Remaining Old West Towns, To Your Bucket List
When was the last time you got out of town for a weekend – or even for just a day? Travel has certainly looked different over the last year, but luckily, there are plenty of amazing places to explore right here in Montana. We’d like to give a shout-out to one of our favorites, the ridiculously charming Old West town of Augusta. If you’ve never been to this little piece of paradise, make this the year you check it out.

The tiny town, which has a population of 319, is located in Lewis and Clark County about 55 miles west of Great Falls.

However, it also makes a fantastic day trip destination for anyone who loves small-town life.

Owned and operated by the Allen family for over 45 years, this place has a little bit of everything.... from groceries to guns. Their motto is "If we don't have it, you don't need it."

This charming gallery and shop is owned by a small group of diverse women who bring a wide variety of treasures to the shelves.

The Buckhorn Bar is a longtime local favorite.

You'll typically see some friendly locals enjoying a meal or a beer, so you may even make a new friend.

It's one of the Treasure State's most underrated small towns, and we're lucky to have it right in our own backyard.
