Not only is Helena our state capital, it also happens to have a pretty fascinating history. And a part of that history is preserved in a charming little spot known as Reeder’s Alley, which is the oldest intact piece of early Helena… and it’s awesome.
By 1884, the alley had a big collection of brick and stone buildings and was a popular place for locals.
Today, it's a charming historic district the locals love.

The cabin dates all the way back to 1864 and was built not by Reeder, but by a miner named Wilson Butts. The cabin is fully furnished, and tours are available during the summer.
