Drive-in theaters have been making a nationwide comeback this year, and we couldn’t be happier. This old-fashioned, timeless, social distance-friendly activity has always been a blast. We are pleased to report that a new drive-in theater opened this year in the tiny town of Manhattan, and it has a pretty fantastic story.

With a population of about 1,800, Montana is a sleepy little town by any definition — and that's just the way the locals like it.

However, there's no denying that this new addition has been a blessing to the small community.
It all started this spring when bored high school senior Porter Blanchard talked to his family about opening a drive-in movie theater on their family farm.

And from one dinnertime discussion, a new idea was born.
As the name implies, the theater is quite literally in a pasture.

Porter Blanchard is about to embark on a two-year mission before starting his college years, after which he'd like to pursue a career in business or accounting. Considering he owned a business before graduating high school, that seems like a wise pursuit.
