Billings is Montana’s largest city. But with a population of around 109,000, that really isn’t saying much, especially when you realize there are well over 600,000 people in Portland, OR, and 226,000 people living in Boise, ID.

But to us, Billings is a pretty big city. And with that title come some obvious perks, like having some great shopping options. If you’ve never checked out all the shops in the downtown Billings area, you owe it to yourself to explore.

Billings has a rich railroad history. In fact, it was named for Northern Pacific Railway president Frederick H. Billings.
