There are over 120 waterfalls in Montana (that we know of) and many of them are only accessible by a lengthy drive or hike. Luckily, you can see several of our most beautiful waterfalls by taking a brief walk. Ousel Falls, for example, requires such a brief walk from the designated parking lot, you won’t even realize you’re exercising.

Ousel Falls is located in Gallatin County near Big Sky.

Reaching it requires nothing but a short nature walk of less than a mile (the trail is 1.6 miles round trip).
This waterfall has been called Big Sky's best secret, even though the trailhead is near the Big Sky Town Center.

But if you manage to find the trail, you'll notice that it's easy, wide, and well-maintained.
The trail follows an alpine ravine that's been carved away by water flowing towards the Gallatin River.
