You Haven’t Lived Until You Try These 12 Mouthwatering Restaurants In Montana
Last year, we compiled a
Montana dining bucket list featuring some of our most famous and beloved eateries. And while those 15 restaurants are definitely amazing, a state this big is bound to have dozens and dozens of dining spots worth trying. Here are 12 more to add to your list.
1. The Fieldhouse, 2601 Minnesota Ave., Ste 3, Billings
From the "industrial yet romantic" ambiance to the meals made from scratch, this is local dining done right. Come see why almost everyone in Billings loves The Fieldhouse.
2. Land of Magic Dinner Club, 11060 Front St., Logan
Land of Magic might be right up the street from the famous Sir Scott's Oasis steakhouse (which made our other list), but the meals served here are just as tasty. Some might argue that the food here is even better - probably the patrons who try a twice baked potato.
3. Main Street Overeasy, 9 E Main St., Bozeman
At least once in your life, go to Bozeman, wait in line, and feast on one of the best brunches of your life. It's worth it.
4. Gallatin Riverhouse Grill, 45130 Gallatin Rd., Big Sky
The gorgeous river views alone would earn the Gallatin Riverhouse Grill a place on this list. Luckily, the BBQ also happens to be delicious.
5. Joe's Pasty Shop, 1641 Grand Ave., Butte
While you'll find plenty of excellent pasty shops in Montana, Butte is kind of the pasty capital of the state - and Joe's Pasty Shop is a nostalgic eatery for many. When you're in Butte, a stop here is a must.
6. Wild West Pizzeria & Saloon, 14 Madison Ave., West Yellowstone
For Montanans of all ages driving through to Yellowstone, stopping at Wild West is an essential experience. You might not expect to find award-winning pizza at a place so obviously geared towards tourists, but that's exactly what you'll get.
7. Edgar Bar, 105 Elwell St., Edgar
Montanans are quite fond of small steakhouses in tiny rural towns (like Grizzly Bar in Roscoe). You'd never guess from its exterior that Edgar Bar serves some of the best food in Montana, but step inside and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
8. Double Front Cafe, 122 W Alder St., Missoula
Simply put, there is no chicken on Earth like the chicken here. There's a reason this restaurant has been popular for over 50 years.
9. Jersey Lilly, 1 Main St., Ingomar
If eating a meal at the historic Jersey Lilly isn't an official requirement of being considered a Montana resident, it really should be.
10. Shamrock Club, 100 Wibaux St N., Wibaux
Wibaux is a tiny town near the North Dakota border, and the Shamrock is a small, unassuming bar and grill in the middle of town. But those who discover it, whether they're locals or just passing through, swear that the food is amazing and the service is friendly.
11. Parker’s Restaurant, 32 E Front St., Drummond
This place is known for their giant (and tasty) burgers, but you'll also find homemade soups, salads and special entrees on the menu.
12. Plonk, Missoula and Bozeman
Even if you're not a wine drinker, the entrees alone at Plonk will steal your heart. Their food is fresh, local and fit for foodies, but it's also unpretentious.
Remember, if you don’t see your favorite Montana restaurant here, you might find it on
this list. And while you’re at it, make sure you enjoy a meal at Montana’s oldest restaurant at least once.
