But in recent years, our most populated city has welcomed all kinds of new eateries, from brewpubs to farm-to-table restaurants. But we happen to think Billings’ best-kept restaurant secret — and possibly all of Montana’s — is Lemongrass Thai Restaurant. And if you’ve ever had the pineapple fried rice, you know what we mean.
Lemongrass Thai Restaurant is located in a little strip mall on King Avenue in Billings.
The restaurant first opened in 2011, instantly becoming a local favorite.
This is a family-owned restaurant with a warm, welcoming interior and a friendly team.
And while it's open year-round, the family does temporarily close now and then to take a much-needed vacation.
The menu consists of all the Thai classics, prepared traditionally.
The pad thai here is exceptional.
Thai cuisine is robust, flavorful, and it also happens to be quite healthy.
And the fact that the food here is made with fresh, delicious ingredients doesn't hurt.
By far, the most popular dish here is the pineapple fried rice.
This is stir fried chicken and shrimp with onion, pineapple, egg, tomato, and cashews served in an actual pineapple. Yes, please.
Deciding what to eat won't be easy when you visit Lemongrass Thai.
We highly recommend bringing a small group and ordering some family-style dishes.
Lemongrass Thai is open Monday - Saturday for lunch and dinner.
