Montana is a large state, but it’s full of charming small towns. In fact, our largest city has fewer than 110,000 residents, which would be considered a mid-sized city in most states. But then there are some places that are so minuscule, even Montanans can’t help but notice. Judith Gap is one of those places. With just 80 people calling it home, it just might be the Treasure State’s tiniest town.

Judith Gap is located in northern Wheatland County in Central Montana.

The town sits nestled between the Snowy Mountains and the Little Belts, with fantastic views of the Crazy Mountains to the south.
This entire town is just 0.38 square miles!

Its only school was built in 1911 and is still going strong.
Needless to say, there certainly isn't much to this town. But you'll like what you see.

The 90 towers that rise 262 feet above the prairie power General Electric turbines, which are powered by three 126-foot blades. Each turbine can produce 1,500 kilowatts of power.

If you're not in the mood for pizza, there are also soups, salads, and burgers available, not to mention irresistible milkshakes for dessert.
The wildlife is abundant in this area, so the town is a perfect home base for hunters.

For good fishing, head to Deadman's Basin, Martinsdale Reservoir, and Ackley Lake. The Ice Caves and Crystal Lake are also nearby.

It’s easy to be smitten with our more popular small towns, like Fort Benton, Philipsburg, and Big Timber, but little-known places like Judith Gap add a lot of character to our beautiful state!
