Waterfalls In Montana

What are some beautiful Montana waterfalls?
With more waterfalls than you can name in one treat big breath, Montana has some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the country. Here are a few of our favorite and incredibly beautiful Montana waterfalls we think you'll enjoy:

  • Crow Creek Falls, Radersburg, MT: With so many wonderful and well-known waterfalls in Montana it is a true blessing to find a hidden gem like Crow Creek Falls. Crow Creek Falls Trail isn't easy to find and it is often closed due to bad weather, but if you can track it down, it leads to a stunning waterfall in the Helena National Forest. The falls plummets over a rock wall to land in a shallow pool of water surrounded by breathtaking beauty. And you'll probably have it all to yourself.
  • Kootenai Falls, Libby, MT: Kootenai Falls is one of the largest free-flowing waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest, not because it is massively tall but because of the incredible volume of water that rushes over a horizontal ledge of the Kootenai River. To get to the falls you'll cross a very cool and long swinging bridge that was built by the Forest Service to access forest fires on both sides of the Kootenai River.
  • Woodbine Falls, Nye, MT: As long as we are talking about big waterfalls, Woodbine Falls is one of Montana's tallest waterfalls. It plunges an impressive 280 feet over a cliff in the Custer National Forest. You can find the trailhead to the falls in the Woodbine Campground. It is a 1.4-mile hike to reach the falls through the beautiful Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness along Woodbine Creek.

Other amazing waterfalls in Montana include Feather Plume Falls, Palisades Falls, Champagne Falls, and the fun to say HooDoo Cascade. Check out eight more of our favorite bucket-list-worthy waterfalls in Montana. Be sure to grab maps of the area's best hiking trails from AllTrails+ before you go.
