Say Goodbye To Winter With Montana's Frozen Festival
Spring is well on its way to Montana (we promise)… but first, we’ll bid winter a proper adieu with the Red Lodge Winter Carnival on March 3. This is an excellent chance for Montanans to gather for one final seasonal celebration. Come see why this is one of the biggest winter parties of the year.
It's easy to see why everyone loves Red Lodge Mountain.
Red Lodge Mountain is Montana Skiing, pure and simple -- you won't find overly long lines or pretentious patrons here.
Every year, Montanans gather to celebrate at the Winter Carnival.
Each year, a theme is chosen, which is reflected in the live music, cardboard crafts and costumes.
The Cardboard Classic Race is one of the highlights of the day.
Things can get pretty intense, but it's fun (and often hilarious) to watch.
When you need to warm up, just head into the Bierstube for a "Shotski" or your beverage of choice.
They also serve classic pub food here.
Even if you don't ski, snowboard or race, you'll find plenty to keep you occupied here.
There will be a costume contest at 1:30 followed by live music on the Bierstube deck. This year's theme is Superheroes.
The festival culminates with the Torchlight Parade at 7 PM, followed by a fireworks display.
It's pretty magical.
Winter is beautiful in Montana, but most of us are ready to welcome spring. Check out these ideas for
