This Pleasant Montana Town Is An Absolute Foodie’s Dream
Montanans have some mixed feelings about our quirkiest city, Missoula. But there’s one thing we tend to agree on: The food options are fantastic. In fact, you might just find the most diverse culinary scene in the state.
Missoula is Montana's third largest city, so it makes sense that it would have an abundance of delicious dining options.
And it's true that you'll find a little bit of everything here.
Montana is a little north of the Mason-Dixon line for BBQ aficionados to take it seriously here, but even the biggest BBQ fans can admit the Notorious P.I.G. is legit.
Everything at The Notorious P.I.G is made from scratch daily, and the smoked meats are unreal.
The Pearl Cafe is a classic date night spot that serves a French-inspired menu full of delicious appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts.
Biga Pizza on Main Street is a local legend...
...and so is the addictive fried chicken from Double Front Cafe, which has been a local favorite for more than 50 years.
People drive from as far as Great Falls just to bite into this chicken.
Paul's Pancake Parlor and the Hob Nob both serve amazing breakfasts, but the Catalyst Cafe (entree pictured here) might top them all.
Try a breakfast at all three of them and decide for yourself.
It's not just classic American food you'll find in Missoula.
Sushi Hana is one of several excellent sushi spots in town, and the fish here is always fresh.
In recent years, Missoula has seen an increase in food trucks and mobile food carts, the majority of which are extremely popular.
Tacos from the El Cazador Taco Truck are unreal.
On Wednesdays during the summer, you can eat your way around Caras Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as the Missoula Downtown Association hosts Out to Lunch.
This event attracts the best mobile food carts and trucks in the region.
And if you miss Out to Lunch, you'll have another chance for some food truck grub at Downtown ToNight, held every Thursday during summer at Caras Park.
This is just a fraction of the delectable dining options you’ll find in Missoula. And if you’re on the fence about visiting, here are
a few more good reasons to go.
