These 10 Ice Cream Shops In Montana Will Make Your Sweet Tooth Go CRAZY
Cold ice cream on a hot summer day is the most refreshing thing on Earth (though ice cream is incredible in any season). Montanans clearly love the stuff, because nearly every town has at least one local ice cream parlor that draws crowds. Here are some of the most delicious ice cream shops in Montana.
1. Sweet Peaks Ice Cream
This amazing shop opened in Whitefish in 2010 thanks to ice cream lovers Sam Dauenhauer and Marissa Keenan. These days you can get your Sweet Peaks fix in Kalispell, Bigfork, and Missoula as well.
2. The Ice Cream Place, Seeley Lake
The locals and tourists all look forward to the Ice Cream Place's opening date (it's seasonal). For a lot of Montanans, it's a summer tradition.
3. Big Dipper Ice Cream, Missoula, Helena and Billings
Their ice cream has gotten national attention and even made it onto Good Morning America. Helena and Billings have storefronts, and there's a Big Dipper ice cream truck in Missoula.
4. Genuine Ice Cream Co., Bozeman
You'll find Genuine Ice Cream at the Victory Taco stand on Main Street. It is locally made and absolutely perfect.
5. Arrowleaf Ice Cream Parlor, West Yellowstone
This delicious ice cream shop is also seasonal, and they're adding a frozen yogurt bar for the 2016 season.
6. Doe Brothers, Philipsburg
This old-fashioned soda fountain serves desserts from the good old days which are made with local brand Wilcoxson's ice cream.
7. Matt’s Place Drive-In, Butte
One of Montana's first drive-in restaurants has incredible burgers and the ice cream and milkshakes are even more impressive.
8. Softie's, Billings
Softie's is THE place to go for cones piled high with soft serve all spring and summer.
9, Gram's Ice Cream and Candy Shop, Havre
Gram's is located in the former Scotty's Ice Cream building - the ice cream is still amazing, but now you can get your candy fix too.
10. Old Trail Ice Cream Parlor, Choteau
This is one spot where the service is as sweet as the ice cream.
