Boxcars Restaurant And Bar Is A Charming Eatery In A Small Montana Railroad Town
Once nicknamed the crown jewel of the Hi-Line, Havre is a charming little railroad city located in north-central Montana. Although it was founded primarily to serve as a major railroad service center for the Great Northern Railway, these days, it’s a pretty quiet place best known for its Havre Beneath the Streets tour.
But this is definitely a city that hasn’t forgotten its roots. Take the appropriately named Boxcars Restaurant and Bar, which serves tasty food and cold drinks in a vaguely railroad themed building.

For years, this has been the go-to place for locals and out-of-towners alike to come for a tasty meal.

And if you're feeling lucky, just head to the casino games in the bar area and try your hand at shuffle board or poker.

Among other things, it's known for having the best burgers in town.

The regular menu here is small, but it's full of delicious options.

Between this, the Box Nachos, and the Battered Pickle Chips, you can make quite a meal from the Appetizer section alone.

The bar here is fantastic, and they're always offering tempting drink specials.

The next time you're in the area, stop in for a Blooming Onion and beverage and see for yourself.
Boxcars is open daily from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m except for Saturdays, when they open at 1 p.m. Check out the latest food and drink specials on their Facebook page.
