9 Places In Montana That Are Better Than Anywhere Else In The Country
If you’re lucky enough to live in Montana, you’re already aware that it’s pretty much the best place on the planet. That being said, there are certain spots in our state that are so impressive, we’d rather be there than anywhere else in the United States. No matter which part of Montana you call home, you must agree that these places are especially spectacular.
1. Lake McDonald
Every inch of Glacier National Park is beautiful, but Lake McDonald is one of its most iconic spots, and for good reason. It's breathtaking.
2. Wild Horse Island
While you may not see actual wild horses on this Flathead Lake island, you'll probably see plenty of other wildlife, not to mention incredible views.
3. Makoshika State Park
Makoshika State Park is one of Eastern Montana's finest hidden treasures. Full of dinosaur bones and other prehistoric gems, these badlands are incredible.
You've got to admire this community for how well it runs without electricity. The huckleberry bear claws at the Polebridge Mercantile don't hurt, either.
5. Mystic Lake
Located deep within the Beartooth Mountains, Mystic Lake sits at the end of a scenic 5.7 mile trail. Make the trek and you'll realize there's nowhere else in the world you'd rather be.
6. Big Sky
It's impossible not to fall in love with Big Sky. While every part of Montana is surrounded by natural beauty, this area offers outdoor recreation in every season.
Not only does Bigfork turn into a beautiful Christmas village every winter, but its lakeside location makes it the perfect place to be all summer. And even though the town is small, it's got some pretty amazing shops and restaurants.
8. St. Mary Lake
St. Mary is connected to West Glacier by the Going-to-the-Sun Road, and it's one of the most breathtaking parts of Glacier National Park.
9. Seeley Lake
It's one of our most popular vacation destinations for a reason... Seeley Lake is gorgeous in any season.
In case you have any doubts that Montana is the most beautiful place in the nation,
we’d like to offer a little proof.
